Derek Purdy, Accompanist

Derek Purdy has been accompanying the West Coast Singers since October 2009. He received his B.A. in Music Theory from Azusa Pacific University and his M.A. in Musicology from Claremont Graduate University. In addition to working full-time as Corporate Culture and Brand Manager for TRL Systems, Derek spends his evenings playing for recording sessions and special events and performing with a wide variety of choruses, bands, and soloists.

West Coast Singers LGBTQ+ Chorus of Los Angeles (WCS) is the third oldest LGBTQ+ and Ally, mixed-voice chorus in the nation. WCS welcomes folx of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions who enjoy singing and the camaraderie of a community chorus. The chorus achieves musical excellence and entertains audiences while promoting understanding, healing, and cooperation within the greater Los Angeles community.
